What are the best finishing touches?

ARTICLES & INSIGHTS

You could read hundreds of kitchen buying guides and try to simplify all of this information, but you might still be unclear on how to decorate your kitchen effectively. These finishing touches are the cherry on top; they’re what make a drab, clinical kitchen into something tangible and eye-catching.

What completes your kitchen design

The finishing touches would be a waste of time if your kitchen designs do not include them, so make sure you’re completely satisfied with the design your kitchen designer has put together for you and that it really is your dream kitchen in principle. One golden rule here – don’t cut corners on storage space; you’ll always need more than you have! Once you’ve got these plans in place, it’s time to start thinking about the many decorative elements you may add.

Kitchen Worktops

The wrong work surface, on the other hand, will totally ruin the look and feel of a kitchen. Our favorite is a Quartzite (not to be confused with Quartz) because it has the structural qualities of granite but with the veining of a marble. We adore stones such as each slab is one-of-a-kind and adds an earthy yet cozy vibe to any kitchen. However we are still happy to work with timber, Quartz and granite kitchen work surfaces if you are looking for something more traditional.

Lighting your new kitchen space

Pendant lights are often placed above kitchen islands, and they can make or break a kitchen. You don’t want to be too overwhelming with your selection here; a sleek, minimalist light will look great in a variety of settings. However, if you have a modern kitchen that is relatively simple and minimalistic, you may afford to be more daring with your pendant lighting choices. This looks especially nice in a white kitchen.

Ample storage

Don’t disregard the insides just because they’re hidden. Consider wirework inserts, utensil dividers, baking trays, corner storage bins — any and all tiny systems that may save you time and make your life more practical when using the kitchen.

Handles or handle-less

Again, we cannot stress enough how important handles are! In a more classic kitchen, you might play it safe with a simple knob or cup pull. However, if you’re feeling daring, explore unique hardware from Armac Martin that come in an array of lovely designs and finishes–like stainless steel or antique brass. With so many different options available, there’s bound to be one that catches your eye!

Make good use of shelving

We adore open shelving in a kitchen because you have to make an extra effort to keep it clean when utilising units with doors, but they’re a fantastic method to express your personality and it has a homey feel about it, as if someone could learn something about your life.
